MODEL KSRG25FKWH04
I think motor assembly is malfunctioning. I can take it out and reset it and it will make one batch of ice and will then call for more water and that water will come and it will freeze but not continue the cycle. I have done this many times and it always does one batch and then won't continue cycle.

Looks like you have to order the new ice maker. It's not worth to repair the old one. - The ice maker Part number: 2198597

You can try it but keep in mind that you will need to replace the thermostat too and you will have to order the alumilastic cement which must be used to attach the new thermostat. It will cost you all together $104.26 and the final result of such repair is not guaranteed because of low success rate on such repairs. On the other side for additional $18 you will get the whole new ice maker.

^ +1 replace it all at once. Cheaper, and much easier to do. Piece of mind is well worth the extra $20

Does it do the same as the old ice maker did or there is something different?

It Actually Does Nothing - So I Guess It's The Same .. Does Not Call For Water - So Nothing Happens At All

Open the freezer door. Be sure the slide "on-off" switch on the right side is on. Check the LED on the right side.
Close the flipper door on the left side and check the LED again.
Post the results.

When in ON position = top red light blinks two times, stops, blinks twice again, etc...
When in ON position = close flipper door on left side = red light stays steady and does not blink.
(FYI - the bottom light on right side never does anything..no red light, no blink)
THANKS
