We've having a problem with the dispenser drawer being hard to close, and then needing to be pried open if was closed. The problem could be temporarily solved by pushing up on the spring loaded latch at the back of housing -- as though it was warped or misaligned. Electrolux said we needed a new replacement drawer housing assembly (which includes solenoids and water connections -- but not a new drawer) -- part no. 137108710. I was told I could find installations instructions on YouTube, but there are none. 2 questions: do I really need the entire drawer housing (at a cost $119), and are any instructions available on how to install it?

We have a stacked washer and drier -- it would be nice if the top of the washer does not have to be removed.

thanks.

I cannot say for certain if a new drawer alone will fix your problem, but if it will here is the part for about $25.00.

Part number: AP4365655
Part number: AP4365655

I don't have a manual on that model, but on most of these models you can remove the drawer by just releasing the stop tab that holds, although on some models there may also be a sliding tab.

If you have to remove the assembly you will have to remove the top. Hope that is not the case.

Thanks. Replacing the drawer would be easy. It is the drawer housing (the part the drawer slides into) that I don't have instructions for. I've learned how to take off the top of the washing machine (2 screws in the rear) and I guess I could fumble my way through taking out the old housing and putting in the new one but it would be nice to see technical instructions to see if there are any special things that I need to pay attention to. It is probably more than simply taking out a few screws, if experience is any guide. Thanks.

I don't have a link to the service manual for that model, but on most of these Frigidaire models it is just a case of removing the drawer and releasing some tabs and possibly a few screws and disconnecting some hoses and wiring. I hope once you remove the top it will be pretty evident on how to proceed.

You may want to contact Frgidaire or Electrolux and see if they will send you technical material to do the job. They have pretty good customer service and if you get to the right person you may be able to get the material.

Hopefully it should not be a difficult job.
