Hi.

Tape the door switch in and while pushing the start switch turn the drum. If the dryer starts - replace the motor.

The motor Part number: 279811
Part number: 279811

Thank you. Post the results.

Simon.

Hi,
Thank you very much for the reply. However, since i am not very handy, can u tell me how hard it is to change the motor? where is the motor in these stackable units?

or can u direct me to a link that would explain the "how to" of changing the motor?

thnx again

Hi.

Did you run the test I suggested? May be it's not the motor.

hi,
so i did the test your suggested. When the door switch is taped, and the start button is pressed while turning the drum, the dryer is still as it was before. it starts but as soon as you let go of button it shuts off. i did the test few times, in different order, such as turning the drum and giving it momentum before pressing the start button, but it didn't change anything in its performance.

I am wondering if the problem could be the main dryer timer switch, AP426348, could it be??
thnx

Was thanked: 4 time(s) in 4 post(s)
Just to add my 2 cents...

Moist likely the problem is a bad motor windings. The correction is to replace the motor. The instructions are attached to the reply. If you do not feel comfortable to do this job it might be better to hire a pro to do it for you.

- The motor Part number: AP3094242
Part number: AP3094242
