i have a whirlpool model et8chmxkb06, had it 5 years this past january. the freezer is blowing cool but not frozen, ie water in ice bin instead of ice and i moved all food to deep freeze. it is at about 38-40 degrees in the freezer. the bottom fridge is not cool at all, sitting about 50ish, maybe warmer as i have kept the thermometer in the freezer. we have cleaned all the fuzzy stuff from front and back, with vacuum and air compressor. there was a power outage yesterday morning that threw everything off for a few seconds and the fridge did come back on, but this is when the problem started. are we done for? there is no man around, so please be patient if i ask dumb questions. there are just things i am not able to do lifting and moving wise. any help appreciated. i just really need to know if it is worth trying to get to the bottom of the issue or just going and getting a new one. thanks!

Hi.
You will need to pull the fridge out, take the bottom cover off and check if the compressor and condenser motor are running.
Post the results.
Simon.

Hi.
Remove the rear panel in the freezer and describe how the evaporator coils are covered with frost. If it's only in one corner or one row - then it's most likely the sealed systerm problem and it's $$.
Thank you.
Simon.
