Maytag Atlantis washer (MAV6200AWW) stops when it gets to the extra rinse cycle. I have to manually advance timer to pump out extra rinse water. Is this a bad timer?

If it stopped after washing it could be the lid switch, but since it goes all the way through to filling on the second rinse it does sound like the timer.

Make sure the "extra rinse" option button is pushed in all the way... i've seen them get stuck half way in and do funky things, If that's ok then it's probably a bad timer.
