None of the water will drain out of the dishwasher. The check valve (pison assembly) does not move up and down when I press on the plunger. I think that this part needs to be replaced. I cannot unscrew it. It is stuck from minerals and I my hands are not very strong. I don't want to damage anything by using the wrong tool to help me unscrew this check valve.

You may be able to at least get rid of the mineralization by pouring some vinegar on it. pour some on wait 15 minutes then do it again.
Do this several times.

Get a paur of slip joint pliers or needle nose pliers.
Open them till they contact the nubs on the top of the vale and then unscrew.

If you click on the picture, a new page will open with more views of it.

Yes... I am trying to dissolve the chemicals with vinegar. It drains away, so I have a rag on top and I soak that regularly. I am also going to get a person with stronger hands to try to remove it.

Thank you.
