Had this for a few years, never had any problems.

Today it started making an odd noise during the spin cycle.

I spun the inside drum with my hand and noticed the unit made the same noise when on.

I am trying to get an idea if this is an easy fix for me, and if so, what parts do I need.

If it is a difficult repair, how much it costs, and if it is worth me paying for an extended warranty so it will cover any other repairs over the next year or so.

Here is a video I made: Samsung front load washer spin noise - YouTube

Have exactly the same issue. I recorded the sound on my iphone and took it into an appliance repair shop. The guy told me it is a common problem for front load machines, said it was usually caused by using to much detergent. Said the soap corrodes the bearings. Unfortunately the fix if they do it is apparently over $700 He said it needs a new drum and motor. I am still looking for a 2nd opinion.
