I just noticed a very small leak (one drop every 10 seconds) coming from the float mechanism in my dishwasher.
The water drops trikle down the long shaft of the float. This seems to occur only when the spray cycle is running and not when the tub is full of water and sitting idle. I don't know how this valve actually seals or how to remove the float from the float stand tube.
Do I need to replace both the float and the float stand in order to fix this leak?
I can see that the entire assembly can be removed via a hex nut on the underside of the tub, but the seal for this is unavailable and I fear destroying it upon removal.
What is the best fix?
Thanks.

Hi. Remove the float only by pulling it up. According the diagram there is nothing is holding it. Check it for any deposits, clean if needed. If that not going to help check if the lower arm rotates when the dishwasher is running, check if any jet holes are blocked and both filters are clean. Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for Maytag MDB6650AWS DISHWASHER- UNDERCOUNTER | AppliancePartsPros.comThank you. Post the results. Simon.
