Our 15 month old Whirlpool Quiet Partner II stopped working completely the other day. Then it randomly started long enough to collect water in the basin and now will not do a thing. We already replaced the thermal fuse but to no avail. From what we have read, it can be any number of things - the door lock or the control panel seeming to be the two most likely. We have the schematics of the dishwasher, but are still uncertain which part exactly is the door lock (is it the actuator lock?) and which part is the control panel (control, electric?). What are some other options? And how do we drain the water out before it gets too gross and stinky? And is this thing worth repairing???? And it sounds like if we buy an ohmeter (sp?) we can check some parts to determine whether or not they are faulty prior to purchasing, right?

And anyone who else who reads this,

I am so very embarrassed. I read on another post that you should also check the outlet to which your garbage disposal is attached to because sometimes where the garbage disposal is wired/plugged in is also where the dishwasher is wired/plugged in. So I checked, and lo and behold, our dishwasher does plug into the same outlet as the garbage disposal, and was simply loose. We never knew that our dishwasher plugged into an outlet - check for this first, people, even if you think your dishwasher does not plug into an outlet (ie is hard wired)! It can save you oodles of time (not to mention $, although we had nothing invested in this repair yet, Thank God!)
