My gas dryer has a drum roller whose bearing is totally destoyed. How do I replace it? It's the one on the left -- opposite the motor. From the parts diagram it appears there is a shaft with threads on each end. A nut at the back of the dryer holds it tothe back panel and a bracket underneath the drum supports the other end at which there is a push on clip. That end is very hard to reach from the front and the nut in back doesn't turn off because there is no way to hold the shaft from turning. Do I need to remove the drum from above?

just clean the shaft of with nail polish or some rubbing alchohol, and put the roller on. you really don't need to replace the shaft. i would replace the 2 rollers the idler pully and the belt. that way it is all done for the next 10 years. tom

Thanks. I got it done easily once I figured out how to disassemble the cabinet and get the drum out.
