When replacing a burnt-out overhead bulb, I noticed its base was corroded and the socket was brittle and cracking. Trying to remove it, I broke the bulb from its base, which I was able to unscrew, and replace the bulb, but now only the "low-beam" setting is working (the over-the-stove lamp on the microwave has an "off-hi-low" setting). I did hear an electrical "pop!" and tripped my circuit breaker at one point; did I blow a fuse or something? Any idea what part I need to replace to get my "high-beam" setting back? -- these ol' 51 year old eyes needs my light!!
