This is a 2007 Whirlpool over range microwave. The door was blown open (not blown off as title says) when a spaghetti squash exploded. Power cycled the microwave, and any time a button is pressed to start cooking it says door open.

The door seems to be a bit off kilter, lower part of door was not flush with the control panel like top half of door. It is only out maybe 1/16" compared to top.

One of the two latch receptacle openings (???, not on the door) seemed to be missing a white plastic piece. I tried probing the other latch opening with screwdriver and pushing on the white plastic piece (gently I thought .... to see how it moved), it disappeared inside the microwave as well. :(

Repair thoughts? Could this be fixed without taking it down? Will I be able to fix this myself? I am aware of the high voltage considerations in the microwave and will take appropriate precautions.

The Whirlpool and Appliance Parts websites don't seem to show this area of the microwave in order to figure out what parts might need to be replaced or re-assembled.

Thanks!!!

I can't seem to get the title of my post to change even though I have edited it. Any ideas?
