My fridge is about 18 months old and just started making a noise like a fan in the back at the bottom is hitting something. Nothing out of the ordinary has been done to the fridge so can't understand what is wrong

Hi.

Pull the fridge out, remove the compressor cover and check if something got in the condenser fan blade.Use the opportunity to clean the condenser coils.

Thank you. Post the results.

Simon.

Ok, well I can honestly say that I am no MS FIXIT!! and probably never will be. When I pulled out the fridge to have a look there was a sheet of paper underneath which I thought was possibly causing the problem, but no, it continued. Then my dilemma was how to get the screws on the cardboard at the back off and back on again. Well it took a member of the opposite sex to tell me that the screws were self tapping? at the time no idea what that meant. He took off the screws, moved the cardboard and found that a small piece of some kind of plastic or cellophane was stuck to the fan causing the noise. Definitely a quick fix. I thank you for all your help and will continue to consult on this site if needed.
