I have the part #s for both the pre and post filter valves but would like to know if one is usually more likely to be causing the leak, or should I just replace both?

the water goes through the pre filter valve first so couldn't leak anywhere if that valve didn't.

Thanks for the reply. That's what I thought, but it also seems like if the second valve is good wouldn't that stop the flow even if the first one leaks?
