oven temperature does not reach correct temperature when set on the digital temperature read out on control panel. information seems to indicate the temperature sensor may be the problem. what are the steps needed to take to determine the problem and what replacement is necessary? thanks in advance

Hi. You need to check the oven temperature sensor resistance. Set your multimeter to the highest setting and check the sensor. Normal reading at room temperature should be 1 - 1.1 Kohm. If the sensor OK - then most likely it's the control board. The sensor Part number: 12001656

A lot depends on how "does not reach correct temperature " is interpreted.
If you put an oven thermometer in the oven and when the oven comes ready (preheat off) the actual oven temperature is low then the sensor is the most likely cause as Simon said.
If the unit stays in preheat and never comes ready then it could be that one of the elements is not coming on. Most units switch back and forth between the elements in preheat and bake. This could be a blown element or the control board. |
