My Maytag washer will not drain. I cleared the pump and found a piece of wire from an underwire bra in the impeller. I cleared it, but it will not operate. Everything else appears to work fine, spins etc. infact I finished a load by draining by gravity at the appropriate times.. I assume the pump is fried, but ow do I tell if it is the circuit board?

Hi,

I would check to see if there is voltage to the pump during the drain cycle.

If there is voltage to the pump during the drain cycle and the pump does not run then the pump is at fault and will need to be replaced.

I have never had to replace a control board on one of these washers because the pump would not run.

Thanks, I suspect it is the pump, but want to make sure. I had read a few other posts that talked about the problem being in the control board and wanted to make sure.
