Hi,

I just bought from a friend her Maytag Precision Touch Control 700 Electric Smoothtop (model # MER5775QCF).

The smoothtop surface is working 100%, but the oven doesn't respond to any heating command at all (I knew that when I purchased the oven).

So, my question is, do you think that my control board has to be replaced? If yes, how much and where can I buy it from the web? Also, how can I check to be sure that the 2 elements are not the problem (I have a multimeter at home, but I believe it is mostly unprobable that the 2 elements are broken in the same time...).

Thank you.

When I put the oven on, I hear a tickling from the control board, but nothing happens. The oven never gets hot at all.

What can you see on the display when you pushing different buttons? Are you able to input any commands?

Yes, I can see that the oven is supposed to be heating.

but it is ok now, I have a friend that gave me his old oven, so I think I will just throw the other one away.

Thank you

The problem can be as simple as open thermal fuse on the back of the range. You have to have a simple ohmmeter to do a few tests and fix this range.
