We've been troubleshooting our GE Side by Side as the freezer stopped cooling and then the fridge warmed up. We took the back panel off the freezer, thawed the coils in the back (they were completely encased in ice) and everything went back to working just fine. We have been having to pull it apart and defrost every 2-3 weeks as it ices up again.
Today we used a meter to test the defrost heater (per instructions on this site) and discovered that it's not working. I ordered the part, but we are having trouble matching up our model number. Our fridge is model number: GSS 22IF PA WW
I am able to find model numbers that end in PC WW, PD WW, PH WW and PJ WW...but none with PA WW. I checked part numbers for all of the models and the defrost heater is the same for all. I was hoping it'd be as easy as looking at the new part to see if it was the same, but there is a note on the parts page that states the part has been changed for a more efficient defrost cycle.
Does anyone know if this part is actually the same and if it will work with our fridge? Any help is appreciated!
Thanks, Paul

Thanks for your help. It appears to be the same part...hopefully it'll work when it gets here!
