I have a Figidaire CFEF357CS1, and the indicator light that tells that the stove is on, is continuously on, whether the stove is on or off. Why is this?
Also, I found that the switches for the large burners were not working so I replaced them. When I did, and turned the large elements on, they were working but when I turned on the small ones at the same time, it short circuited and sparked. Can anyone explain what could possibly be wrong?

The model number you posted does not come up. Verify it and repost please. Is it made in USA to be used in USA?

That is the correct model number. Maybe it is a Canada only model, but that is the correct number. This link has some manuals and other papers regarding the model number: Frigidaire CFEF357C - YouserGuide

There are two of them. Which small element failed? There are two of them. Possible the switch for this element is bad too (especially if it is on the same side with that indicator light) or the wires for this switch/element and/or receptacle are bad. Gene.

Thanks for your reply.
Believe it or not, Both the lights are on, and this happened on both of the small elements.

Check for proper installation of the switches you already replaced. It should be done in accordance with the wiring diagram from the link you posted. If there is nothing wrong, check the receptacles and all wires. Replace the switches for both small elements. - The switch for small surface element Part number: 318293810
