I have a Whirlpool Ultimate Care II washer and after it fills with water, it quits. I have been able to pound on the lid door and it will start and the rest of the cycles will finish. However, this is no longer working. Could this be the lid switch? How about the pressure switch.

If the water shuts off after it is filled the pressure switch should be ok.
Try bypassing the lid switch to check it out.
