Two weeks ago I ordered a new valve from you and the installation was easy. However, water still does not go into the icemaker. The water-in-the door works great BUT it does not come out chilled. It is warmer than room temp I think. What could prevent the water from chilling and why won't the icemaker pull in water?

Hi.

Provide the model number, please.
And also, did you check the water valve before replacing it?

Thank you.

Simon.

Model ED5FHEXN s00

First the icemaker quit , then the water dispenser stopped. I contacted appliancepartspro and it was determined I needed the new valve (AP5263471 (W10408179)

We got water as soon as the new valve was installed but not in icemaker....so maybe the icemaker itself is also broken?

The water dispenser giving WARM water is strange and I don't understand how that is possible.

Hi.

Make sure that the icemaker water inlet tube is not frozen.
Then switch around plugs at the water valve and press water lever.
If the water fills - replace the icemaker.

The icemaker Part number: W10190965
Part number: W10190965

Regarding the warm water from the dispenser. Check the temperature in the refrigerator bottom rear area. That's where the water reservoir is located. Try to drain first half of the glass and than taste it.

Thank you. Post the results.

Simon.

Do you mean to pull out the 2 drawers in the bottom of refrigerator and then feel the back wall?
I can tell you that the water comes out quite warm as if heated a bit for about the first 2-3 ozs then slowly comes out more room temp. Definitely not chilled. What could be warming it?

Pull the refrigerator out of the wall. Remove the rear bottom cover and the front bottom grille. Clean the condenser coils (#3 at the diagram) using a special condenser cleaning brush and a vacuum cleaner. Make sure the fan next to the compressor works fine.

It would not hurt to measure the temperature in the fresh food compartment, using a refrigerator thermometer.

Part number: AP4320046

- The refrigerator thermometer Part number: AP3549145
Part number: AP3549145
