Hi. I have a Magic Chef combination Microwave/Wall Oven and while the microwave works fine, the oven will not heat to the setpoint. If I crank the oven up to the max setting, it will get to about 300 degrees and some foods will not cook thoroughly.
I had a local technician come out to to troubleshoot and he said that the oven control board was faulty but he could not order another one due to unavailability. He replaced the temperature sensor to see if that would make any difference but it did not.
I found a circuit board from another source and installed it but the ribbon cable that I needed to attach to the new board was soldered to the old board. I unsoldered the cable but now I need a good way to connect the male pins of the new circuit board to the male leads of the old 10-conductor ribbon cable.
I took pictures but they are too large to upload here. I will find a resizer program and upload them if that would help.

Not sure what I am looking at. First 3 pictures seem to be the old board with the ribbon cable cut off. The forth looks different. Is it the old board before you cut out the ribbon cable? It looks like the 10 conductor cable is just an interconnect between the boards?
You could try Digikey but finding the correct connector, if they even have it, will be difficult to say the least.
All I can suggest is that you hard wire in the unit. |

All pictures show the new board after installation. The problem is that I had to unsolder the 10 conductor cable from the old board and now there is no convenient way to reconnect it.
What is the best connector to use for hardwiring this?

Sorry but I am not sure what I am looking so cannot help. In any case I would not know what the connector number is and I do not see a harness in the parts. |
