Last night, my disposal backed up and clogged the trap on my sink. The dishwasher was running when this happened so it overflowed into the sink and then eventually this water drained back into the dishwasher (and more because I ran some water trying to figure out what was going on).

Once I cleared the trap and got the pipes back together, I noticed my dishwasher is not working right...When I turn on my Thermador dishwasher, the drain starts up right away (even with the door open), and does not kick off to start a cycle like should (doesn't matter which one I choose, normal, heavy, etc).

It seems to be draining fine because I poored some water into it and drained right away. I removed the filter/trap to inspect it, but there were not anything that appears to be clogging it.

Remove the toe panel and check for the water in the base. In order to prevent such problem in the future you have to install an air gap on top of the sink.

Here are the break down diagrams and Replacement parts for THERMADOR DW44ZSB | AppliancePartsPros.com
