I have a Whirlpool dishwasher. Model # DU941PWKB1 Serial FP1118879 that has died  We ran it the day before yesterday and when it went off there is still water standing in the bottom and it acts like there is no power to it at all. I have checked the breaker and no problems there. I took the door apart and was peeking to see if I saw anything obvisouly wrong and I noticed on one end of the circuit board there is a black spot under the large black pluck on the right hand side. The black part of the connector that plugs into the board also has white on it like it may have shorted out or whatever. Is this piece replaceable? We can not afford a new dishwasher or much $$ to repair this one. We have 7 kids ages 7 months to 9 years and my husband is laid off and can't find work. Please help! Any advice would be appreciated!

The control board has a thermal fuse attached to it that has most likely failed. Use a multimeter to check for voltage between the two fuse connectors. If you find 120vac, the fuse it bad and the new fuse kit (AP3115186) should get you going again.
