Hello,
I am experiencing a problem that occurred once before. The dryer has a feature that should shut off the unit once it senses the clothes are dry. However, it continues to run long after the clothes are dry.
Someone else repaired it before so I don't have all of the details but as I remember a sensor had to be replaced. Could it have been a humidity sensor?
Anyway, I did not see anything like this on your website's diagrams. Can you help me?
Thanks, Bob Norman

Here is the parts breakdown Replacement parts for AMANA AEM697W | AppliancePartsPros.comI went through the parts and could not find a moisture sensor so odds are high that you do not have one. I assume timed dry runs OK? You may want to open up the control console to see if they have put the wiring diagram in there or it may be glued on the back. I cannot find a diagram on the net. I think the unit is made by Whirlpool. Here is a good link with basic info http://www.applianceaid.com/whirlpool-dryers.htmlYour unit may be close to the following without a belt switch but you really need to find a wiring diagram. Check out #34 Sample wiring diagrams #6 Old style Whirlpool Check the operating thermostat on the blower housing to see if it has 3 wires going to it. If yes it could be that the Normally Open contacts are not closing. The Normally Closed contacts would be used to power the heater. Hopefully the above will help a little. |
