I have the tubs removed, but the tub bearing kit (AP4372971) will not come off the transmission housing. It spins, but will not come off. Plus, I can tell that the inner sleeve is stuck to the transmission housing. I have been using WD40 and liquid wrench to try to get them loosen. I've heard that you can chisel, but I'm concerned about damaging the housing. Any suggestions?

Hi,

I have cut them off before with a dremel and cut-off wheel.

I'm trying PB Blaster now and if that does not loosen it I guess I'll go buy a dremel.
Thanks.

Yes, that is the sleeve. I was able to remove it by using a dremel. Now, I have put everything back together and it still has a small leak coming out through the tub bearing on the bottom of the tub. The inside of the outer tub where the seal goes had a little corrosion. I sanded and cleaned it, but there was still some spots on it. So, I am now thinking of removing the mounting stem kit to sand and paint the location where the seal sets on the inside of the outer tub. I'm checking to see want kind of paint to use or if there is some type of sealant that I can use between the seal and tub.

Do you recommend buying a new outer tub?
