Guessing on the age of the unit. The dryer came with the home we bought a year ago.
The dryer will start up and run normally. By this I mean you can open the observation door and hit the start button and the igniter will glow bright orange and the flame will kick on and the heat builds up. What the wife has told me is the clothes will not dry well. I watched the dryer go through this cycle and then when you open the door and start the cycle again, the igniter will glow but no flame. When the flame doesnt light up, there seems to be some groaning noise coming from what seems to be the front of the machine. Almost like a solenoid is trying to do something but isnt. The machine has always worked well and is in excellent condition. Any ideas of what the problem may be?
Thanks......if any questions, call my cell phone 616-813-1198 . I would like to repair the machine versus buying new.

If you want it explained better......
Start up when cold. Push the start button. Drum turns, you hear a small click which i believe is the signal being sent to the igniter....then the igniter heats up and the flame comes on.
Start up after dryer has run. Push start button. Drum turns.....you hear the same click signaling the igniter to glow...the igniter glows but then a rumbling sound comes on for a few moments until you hear another click signaling the igniter to turn off.
Is this sounding like a thermocoupling?
