My side by side freezer/fridge has been humming all night. Today I discovered the ice is melting and the food is defrosting. What should I do first to find the problem? It does not appear that both fans are on all the time. Refridgerator seems to be fine. Temperature settings are 7 and 5.

I have check the internal coils and they are not frozen. I have cleaned out the external coils. I unplugged the unit for 18 minutes. The ice maker is cold but everything else is room temperature.

Remove the cover on the back of the refrigerator and check if the compressor is running and is the temperature of the compressor. Post the results.

compressor was not running or hot. checked the Ptr and overload on the compressor, both were good. Next, removed the motherboard and saw that 832A-1C-S was not solder completely. Added new solder securing connection to the pads. Reinstalled motherboard, plug the fridge back into the outlet. Compressor started all checked out fine.

Thanks for you help!
