Thanks in advance for your advice!
I did my first-ever self clean cycle recently and the next day discovered that that the oven would not preheat. The control panel seems to work fine.
How might we go about fixing this?
Thank you!

Hello, Skyvu.
You oven has two hi - temperature safety thermostats, one for each. Let me know, please, which oven did use upper or lower?
Post the answer .

I only have one oven. However, on an old piece of paper with the model number written on it, I have a handwritten"B" after the model number. Could that mean bottom? If it helps at all, it is an undercounter oven.
Also, why is it that this seems to be a common problem after a self-clean on so many brands of ovens? A warning should be listed in the owner's manual of the possibility of this happening. Seems silly to offer the self-clean feature if the ultra high heat will damage elements in the oven, don't you think?

Hello. Could be several reasons for the hi-limit to open. Weak hi-limit, slow cooling fan, obstructions in the air flow path. Switch the breakers off. Locate the grill under the control panel and see if there any dust or grease blocking the openings. It should be easy to fix the problem. The hi-limit thermostat is next to the latch assembly on the right. Just push in the red button in the center. You even may be able to do this with out taking the grill out, if you have anything long enough to rich there. When you push the button there should be a "click" sound. Let me know the result. If you will need to replace the hi- limit here is part#. The hi-limit thermostat Part number: AP2832064
