just replaced relay overload Part Details - WHIRLPOOL Relay, overload and cover kit, part number: 4387835 , and found capacitor(20 mf 180 V) next to compressor(was not connected for some reason) WHIRLPOOL Capacitor, part number: 4387764.
my question: is run capacitor is optional or tech forgot to connect it. tried to connect myself and compressor runs with or without it the same.

thanks

The compressor will operate without the run capacitor, but will run less efficiently and may reduce the overall life of the unit. How much of a difference it will make is hard to tell, but if your compressor was designed to work with it, I would reconnect it to the starter

Thank you for quick response. I've done exactly this. I'm not surprised why tech didn't reconnected run capacitor, if it could reduce life of the compressor.

do you happened to know where i could find diagram for my refrigerator?
