Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 3/17/2009(UTC) Posts: 2		just replaced relay overload Part Details - WHIRLPOOL Relay, overload and cover kit, part number: 4387835 , and found capacitor(20 mf 180 V) next to compressor(was not connected for some reason) WHIRLPOOL Capacitor, part number: 4387764. my question: is run capacitor is optional or tech forgot to connect it. tried to connect myself and compressor runs with or without it the same. thanks

How much of a difference it will make is hard to tell, but if your compressor was designed to work with it, I would reconnect it to the starter

I'm not surprised why tech didn't reconnected run capacitor, if it could reduce life of the compressor.:cool: do you happened to know where i could find diagram for my refrigerator?
