Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 3/17/2009(UTC) Posts: 2		Dryer will heat up and dry cloths. When selecting the level of dryness it dryes the cloths but will not turn off. It seems that there would be some type of humidity sensor in the system that needs replaced. The timer is relativly new.

It is for a Whirlpool which makes Roper. The reason I chose it is that you also have a resistor in the timer circuit. I doubt you have an actual moisture sensor. http://appliancehelp.hyp...lpdryerdiagrmasample.gif First does the unit shut off in timed mode? You will notice in timed mode the timer motor gets power from half the line Neutral to L1 (120 volts) Does the timer advance in Auto mode or just stay where it is set? In Auto mode the timer gets power when the heater is shut off. The resistor is there to reduce the voltage from 240 volts to 120 volts. The resistor is usually about 4 to 5 Kilohms. Measure it with a meter, if open than that is probably your problem. Try a no heat setting (Fluff) now does it advance and shut off? If you get any heat then you may have a grounded element re: the heating coil is touching the case so it is on all the time at 120 volts. Instead of using the 240 volts and being isolated from the case/frame.
