I have a Kenmore 80 Series Heavy Duty dryer. The problem began about 6 months ago when the dryer timer would time down and spin right through the off period and into the next cycle which was 'no heat' before ceasing after that cycle which was about 30 minutes or so. Sometimes the only way the machine would stop was to open the dryer door. Then the timer began to only start on certain times such as 27 minutes, 64 minutes or whatever for that matter and then time down. Sometimes the timer would cease after a few minutes and dryer would shut off. Most recently the dryer will only start when the timer is placed at about 15 minutes or so. We get heat for 5 minutes then the cool down cycle before the timer ceases at the off period. We have manually mmove the timer back to 15 minutes and restart the process and do this for 5-6 times before we have dry clothes. Any suggestions on the problem?

According to the tag inside the front door, the model number is: Model/Stock No. 96588210 65882. In advance, thanks for the help.

I have a serial number...but I imagine that would be of little help. However would it be helpful and/or specific enough if I were to provide the numbers that are printed on the timer. I can retrieve most numbers from the timer as it sits and can remove it to get a better view.

Call AppliancePartsPros they may be able to find the timer.

As to the timer numbers, it's worth a shot.
I will do the best I can to find a cross reference
