I need to replace the motor/pump assembly. Can I remove the old one from inside the tub ? It looks like a twist out, but I want to make sure

The pump is removed from inside the tub and is held in place by a lock ring under the tub. The ring will rotate to the side and release the tabs holding the motor in place. Disconnect the hose and wires connections, then turn the lock ring and push the pump up into the tub.

:) Thanks, Brian for your advice. It was easier getting off than back on. A few leaks later, and all seems well[
