Hello,

My Jenn-Air recently stopped heating and the light comes on and off by itself. The light can also be turned off at the control panel. Gas burners work fine.

I ordered the complete control panel and it worked for about 2 weeks(although light still occasionally did not work).

Ordered another panel, replaced and oven doesn't work at all, light still comes on and oven goes into preheat cycle and then shuts down. You have to hit cancel to get the control panel to respond to button presses. I hear beeping coming from the unit sporadically.

Oven has not been repaired before, this is new.

Thanks,

Todd

Hi Todd,

Sounds like the problem is a bad control board.

This looks like what was replaced(twice), am I getting defective parts?

Thanks

Hi Todd,

Every part has its own name and it is very important for proper troubleshooting to name it right. The control panel is the face panel with a key pads on it.

According to the problem description you posted, the first problem suspect is a faulty control panel. I did recommend to replace the control board because you stated that you already replaced the control panel twice and it did not fix the problem.

Now we found that you actually replaced the control board and the next step is to replace the control panel.

Ok, I follow that they are different parts. What I don't understand is how the panel could be causing the problem. Are there any electronic parts/wiring in this panel, looks like a cover panel in the picture.

Thanks

Click on the picture and you'll see a few different views. You can see a ribbon cable in one of them. It plugs into the control board which you said you replaced twice.
