Check to see if the condenser fan at the back underneath the fridge is running. Is the compressor motor near that fan running. Are the coils warm ,cold or hot.
Is the evaporator fan in the freezer running.
Below the evaporator fan is the evaporator coils. Remove the back cover in the freezer to observe the frost pattern. stopped up? clear? ice in one spot . frost everywhere.

None of the fans are running, the coils are just cool to the touch(Are those the ones inside the fan housing?) I removed the back cover and there is not noticeable frost pattern on the coils, mind you it all defrosted last night though,
Thanks

After the unit has been unplugged for several minutes see if you hear any clicking or other noise from the compressor when it's turned back on.

I unpluged it for an hour and then plugged it back in, no sounds, nothing, but the lights are on in the fridge when I open the door so there is power

If you can bypass the temp. control assembly(thermostat) to see if it is working, will eliminate or confirm it as the problem. Part 3 on the control diagram.

I bypassed it and the fridge started working, I guess that tells me/us that the control assembly is shot, correct? I will get a new one tomorrow Thanks so much for your help,
Ian
