fuse blew the other day on Panasonic NN-P794wf.
i think primary switch #1 may be gone b/c the one wire on terminal connector is browned/melted plastic.
it needs a 18 or 20amp fuse. i can not locate one here for over a week but did try a 15A fuse and it works until you try to put food int for longer than 30 seconds. right now i am looking to having to wait 2 weeks plus for parts.

it is recommended to replace all the switches and fuse and power relay. is that all really required. i dont mind the switches, but is the relay also required. is this a solder job for the relay or just a plug in style.

now i have also read that you have to be careful with how the swithces are put in or it can result in radiation leak. i cant find anything specific for this model (i.e. service manual) where it says this.

given that this model is probably 6-7 years old, i know it is not likely worth taking into a repair place, however, spending 25 in switches and fuses i can live with.

i will likely buy a new one on my way home tonight, but just wondering if this is worthy of a repair for a upgrade at the cottage. any info would be helpful

it is a Panasonic Genesis Prestige - so it has more bells and whistles.
last night i when looking for a new microwave, i noticed that they still carry the model we have. although it is stainless front they were selling for $300 incl. tax mine was white and i think i paid about $250 about 5-7 years ago.

so i ended up getting a $400 panasonic (probably one of their highest end counter top models, which was on sale for $250 tax in.

i will likely spend the $25 on the parts for the other one to see if it can be fixed.
