Hi, We have had this Electric dryer about 1.5 Years. Today it stopped heating and the timer does not advance in any position. The dryer will just keep running until you turn it off. I am guessing the timer is bad, but I would like to know for sure. Thanks in advance for your help.

JM, a couple of things, are you sure you have 220 to 240 VAC at the terminal block on the back of the dryer ? and no loose connections. If the motor doesn't run, the dryer wont heat but we could have two problems, so : At the timer, with the dial in a timed dry setting, disconnect the black(L1) and white/black wire (TM) and check across the terminals for a "closed" circuit, with a multimeter that will determine if you have a bad timer motor. An "open" circuit would indicate a faulty timer contact and or a faulty timer motor. Also check for a "closed" circuit between the Black(L1) terminal to the Red terminal on the timer, that is the heat circuit in the timer and has to close, to supply voltage to the heater element L1 side. From there we'd need to check the thermal fuse for a "closed" circuit across the terminals.
You'll have it figured out in no time Good Luck and Thanks
