using a FLUKE 11 multimeter is this a good enough meter, and thanks i will try all of these things, by motor start i mean at the push button on the front panel. ohms meaning .OL on the meter screen

Your meter is more than adequate
Just a note on usage whenever I use ohms I always short the two leads together to read a 0 ohms, this ensures that it is working OK.
Good luck, tracing the circuit just takes time. |
