I am the agent on the sale of a home. The refridgerator was working when the seller moved out and they unplugged it. Now after sitting for several months, the new owner has plugged it in and the lights go on, but the board that tells temp in refrigerator side doesnt light up. Also I dont hear the compressor running. Fridge does not get cold. If the board that is in front that regulates tempreture is out, would that stop the compressor from running? I was hoping it might be an easy fix by replacing that board. I'm trying to help out these first time home buyers. What do you think?

Sounds like the control connector is disconnected, just remove control housing and check.

I am also wondering if the motherboard, has a stuck relay from being shut off. If you pull out the refrigerator, there is a panel in the back, that has three 1/4 inch screws holding it in place. You might want to unplug the refrigerator when you do this and tap on the relays a little bit, and then plug it in and give that a try. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
