Hi My Kenmore dishwasher stop working. Yesterday I used it and I noticed that I had to press the start botton twice. Then next day when I was going to use it it did not work. The machine drain the water and all lights on the bottons light up except for the delay hour, the light wash. Any ideas please.... Thank you
Andy

Here are your parts Replacement parts for Kenmore 66513443K900 | AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the tech sheet. You will notice in the keyboard pin-out that the light was ans delay have P1-11 as a common, also the start uses this line. I would do the following first. Connector Cleaning / Checking Unplug the unit Open it up Remove the ribbon cable from the keypad to the control board at the control board. Clean the edge connector. If it is the type where there is not a connector just the insulation is removed, it can be cleaned with a pencil eraser. Do not use an ink eraser as it is too abrasive. Check the tracks in the ribbon cable for hairline cracks. A magnifying glass helps here. Would not hurt to clean the connector on the board. Use electronics contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush. Be gentle and do not reconnect till all the solvent evaporates. Reconnect everything and give it a try. If that does nothing then check the keypad with a meter. If you find a fault replace the control panel (keypad) If OK replace the control board as it can also cause this. Still a bit of a crap shoot but your odds are better. |

I think you can get it to run in diagnostics but that may not work with a keyboard problem. |

Also, How do I check the keyboard with my meter. Sorry I asked this question but I am new on this. I have some electric knowledge but not enough to figure out how to test the keypad. I just want to make sure which part I should order. Thank you Originally Posted by: polancoay Thank you for your help One more question. Somebody asked if the motor start. How can I test it. Thank Denman,
I had time yesterday to check the machine. I was able to start the machine on the diagnostic test. I realized that when I did that, all of the lights on the key pad light on for few about 5 seconds, then the machine started and finish the cycle. I read on the tech sheet that if all lights come on during the test, then the keypad is fine. It might be the main controller board. Do you think that make sense. Thank you

Do you think that make sense. No it does not make sense to me. The control board which is controlling the LED's has no way of checking that when a button is pushed it actually closes the switch. |
