I purchased a new drain pump for my Bosch Dishwasher SHE55M05UC /50 .

The installation instructions are confusing - or maybe not for my model. I took off the black toe kick but have no idea how to replace the drain pump

BOSCH Drain Pump, part number: AP3996662

The instructions imply that once I disconnect the Dishwashers Main wires the pump will be visible this is not the case.

Removal of the outer door panel will gain a better access. You can use the first part from the attached instructions.

Thanks Gene

I'm still confused how does removing the door panel help expose the drain pump, what else do I need to remove besides the toekick. There is a white plastic cover behind the toekick does the need to be removed to? If so how I can't figure that out. See my photo

The reason to remove the outer door panel is to ease access to the bottom of the dishwasher.

Regarding the following question:

you probably did not read the attached instructions and the reply posted by Phil_Phil in one of our previous threads http://forum.appliancepartspros...-drain-pump-removal.html in spite of you posted your question there too.

Thank you

The trick for anyone attempting this is to remove the toekick, then the door panel (torx screws around inside of door) - this is necessary to gain room to work and remove the pump, finally remove galvanized front cover (behind toe kick). Then you can easily access the drain pump. The rest is easy. 30 min tops.
