Hey guys. I have searched on this and have checked all connections and then completed a continuity check of the motor/tachometer at connector on the MCU.

I got 6.2 ohms from 1-2, 1-3 and 2-3. 6 ohms is good so this tells the motor winding's are fine. However the 4-5 pin ohms reading was 114.8 ohms when I have read it should be between 115-125 ohms. This is close but not within the range. Could this be off enough to not allow the washer to detect the speed of the motor?

I'm trying to decide what part to try first (motor, MCU, CCU)

I'm thinking I will probably replace the motor/tachometer first? What do you guys think?

Thanks guys!

With this issue, if the unit will fill and wash and agitate, but not spin. It is usually the motor control unit. But since it is a bit pricey to guess, then you will need to also check the MCU. If you have the tech manual, there are checks you can do on it most likely.

You can also check voltage (only if you know how) at the motor while it should be spinning. If you have no voltage at motor when the unit calls for it to spin, then you will have to check the MCU to see it it is sending voltage to motor, if not, then see if it is getting voltage from control.

If it is not getting voltage from control, make sure your wiring has continuity and connections are not loose, then it is almost surely your main control.

Sometimes if the control is not getting a signal from the door lock, then it will not spin either. So make sure your door lock is good also.

good luck

Ok, so tried a different motor and that did not fix the problem. I think it was still worth replacing due to the tachometer reading being slightly out of tolerance. It probably would have gave me problems next.

By the way, the issue is not just that it wont spin. I can happen at any point during the cycle.

So, motor control unit (MCU) next?

You tried a different motor? I hope you didn't have to buy that new...

Test the Motor Control Unit first according to the tech manual directions. I don't ever recommend throwing parts at an appliance, it can get expensive and some parts are not returnable if you install them.
