Just replaced coupler between trans and motor, everything went together smoothly. Started up washer and attempted a load of wash. smelled something burning so i stopped the washer and took everything apart again. Now the motor does not spin free like it did before replaceing broken coupler.... did I do something wrong? Also how far down on the shafts should the couplers sit? old one blew apart so had no referance to go by..

The coupler should be FLUSH with the end of the shafts on BOTH!!!!! Are you saying that the motor doesn't turn freely? If not, Somehow the motor has something in it or it burnt up???? OR The transmission is bound-up!! Try removing The motor from its mount and running it without a load on it.

Ok, Just Put Both Couplings Flush With Shafts And Ran Motor....motor Turns But Has Burning Smell Coming From It. Are The Bearings Possibly Bad? Is This Why The Coupler Broke? Or Is The Trans Binding Up? Everything Seems To Spin When Turned Seperately
