Long story short...
pump clogged with dog bed fuzz. easily this was removed and replaced. belts looked fine and did not replace them. i then did a short test run without clothes. although i didnt run the entire cycle, i did fill it on a low water setting, watched it agitate, then fast forwarded the cycle to spin, that worked, then it drained. woohoo. THEN with clothes....

This time, washer fills, tries to agitate (sounds like its agitating) but instead drains partway, refills and repeats indefinaterly. So I forwarded the cycle to a spin and it spins and drains as normal.

SO for a visual inspection, the agitator/pump bar does not seem to be moving. And honestly I only assume it should move because of the pump lever that is threaded through it. (confused yet?)

Any best guess as to a next step is appriciated.

Oh, i have not done any circuit testing or anything electircal yet. Im pretty much a novice with that stuff but if you can give a clue where to start, i can find help.

Thanks a bunch.

OK. so after a few experiments i can get it to spin or agitate but not both.
By manually resetting the position of the agitation bar and spin bar i can get it to start a normal cycle with fill agitate drain but then no spin.

Or I can get it to spin by manually setting the bars to opposing positions, but then no agitate.

so confused.

also, the brake (i think thats what it is) that spans the two bars seems bent. would that keep the bars from the correct position? What do the bars do anyway. they dont seem to move when its spinning or agitating.

Was thanked: 4 time(s) in 4 post(s)
Remove the rear access panel and check the wig-wag assembly (#75 on the diagram), the plungers and the wires. Post the results.

Gene.
