I have gotten the strangest error code 5Ab on my Maytag Range display. My husband reset the time last Sunday (the 4th) for DLS(Daylight Savings Time) and last night this message code appeared. The top burners will light but the oven WILL NOT WORK.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks :)

Hi sewsew

Your range is probably in the Sabbath mode. The error code shown on the display is"Sab", not "5ab".

To disable the Sabbath mode push and hold the Clock pad for 3 seconds.

Gene.

I have the same issue and I've tried resetting the sabbath mode and it works for about 15 seconds and then returns to the sabbath mode without touching anything. Any suggestions?

What is the complete model number of the oven?

How did you try to reset it?

Gene.

Gene,

I held the Clock button for 3 seconds and then the Sab flashes for 5 seconds and stays constant with Sab displayed. After that It held the Clock button for 3 seconds and the Sab flashes for 5 seconds and returns to the clock display, but when I try hitting bake or any other button on the stove, nothing happens until I press the cancel button. Then I can hit the Bake, Clock or any other button and it works for about 15 seconds and then returns to the Sabbath mode automatically. I've tried everything it is instructing me to in the manual and still nothing works.

The oven I have is a Jenn-Air Gas Range Electronic Touch Control 800.

Thanks.

Ron
