The snorkel of our Thermador Universal Cook'N'Vent (model UCV36) is stuck in the up position. The various fan speeds work fine. The sensitivity of the on/off button has seemed temperamental over the last few weeks and it now stopped working altogether. We think it may be the switch itself and possibly the motor to raise and lower the vent. We have a copy of the wiring diagram but it would be great to get a copy of the service manual/instructions on how to take the snorkel apart. Any other advice to us novices would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for supplying the service manual.
In our unit the circuit board is rotated 90 degrees and we could not access the J4 pin through the "trap door".
We could access (page 27) the J6 pin after for neutral and line terminals to read 14 ohms. The 24VAC terminals read 0.8.
page 28 - hooked into the circuit board we read 0 ohms, but unhooked the wires read 4 ohms.
We had an electrician come out to take a look but he would not dissemble the unit. What kind of expertise should we get to fix this since we clearly our out of our league on this one.

Fixing Thermador products never been simple. It is a real headache.
Very likely the problem is a bad limit switch(es) but it could be a bad PCB as well.
The best solution is to find a pro who knows how to work with such appliances.

Thermador UCV36AS/01--limit switches up, down, & interference switch working per repair manual thank you. 24VCD available, DC motor works up & down when jumped to 24VDC source. Fan works, fan timer works, fan off works. UP/Down switch does not work. I am trying to isolate the cause to the relay board or to the control PCB. The repair manual (next to last page) shows a 16pin connection from the PCB to the relay board. My appliance has a 10pin connection. (Anyone have the description on these pins) Please see attached picture. What is the test procedure to determine if the problem is with the PCB on/off switch or the relay board. There is no description for the pin terminals opp 1,2,3,4,5; SW; INT; & PP. And there is no test procedure to by pass the PCB. Any direction or previous experiences would be greatly appreciated.
