My Thermador Gas Oven continues to re-ignite itself while baking. It heats and bakes well, but it seems odd to me that the oven has to ignite itself more than once at the beginning. Is this normal for a Thermador?

More detailed description of problem is below:

there are two blue lights, one for "oven" and one for "heating". when
the oven initially starts, both lights turn on and you hear the oven
igniting itself and the heating light turns off. while the oven is
heating, every 3-4 minutes the heating light comes back on and you
hear the oven igniting itself again. once the oven reaches the set
temperature, the blue heating light turns off and the blue oven light
stays on. after a couple minutes, the oven probably drops a little in
temp, and the blue heating light turns back on and then you hear the
ignition lighter coming back on lighting a couple more burners. the my
question is: is it normal for the oven to keep igniting itself over and over during the course of baking? i would think that like a grill, the burners only need to be lit once and then once a temperature is reached, the gas is turned down, not off and then re-lit. does that make sense? thanks in advance for any help.

Your oven is working fine. When the burner ignites, the inside temperature of the oven will rise rather quickly due to the size of the burners. When the thermostat is satisfied, the gas is turned off and the oven will begin to cool until the thermostat is cool enough and turns the burner back on. Gas ovens do no work like grills, they are constantly cycling the burners on and off in an attempt to maintain a set temperature. And they do a pretty good job at it.

thanks technician brian. i appreciate the input. it still seems odd that the oven has to re-ignite itself even before it reaches the set temperature, but the oven works fine other than that issue so i guess i'll leave it alone. thanks again.
