DW recently went down. At start of cycle,

1. Pump drains water from sump
2. Water fills bottom of DW
3. DW continues in cycle but does not spray water up through arms.
4. At the end of cycle pump drains water

Checked water pressure into vlave / Good
Checked water inlet valve operation / Good
No obstruction in arm assemblies

Questions:

Does unit have seperate circulation pump and drain pump?
Is there a diagnostic procedue I could run?
Great info on website but no electrical schematic listed.
Numbers on Bosch schematics listed do not match the numbers listed on your parts.
Is there a tech manual availabe for this unit?
If not, can I cross refernce any of the models listed in the tech manual posted on one of your threads " SHU/SHI/SHV Dishwasher Troubleshooting Tips".

Do you think it is a pump issue or an electronic issue?
Any chance water not reaching temp could cause this?

THANK YOU for any help you could offer!

Take Care, Mark

Added Question - Any info on terminal board location for circ pump motor?
Do you think it is a pump issue or an electronic issue? I am going with circulation pump or motor
Any chance water not reaching temp could cause this? I am thinking NO

Same problem here, just started. There is a tiny bit of water being recirculated but not enough to make the arm spin, and there's a constant clacking sound as if a piston has failed.

Anyone managed to repair this?

I actually did manage to repair it. The problem was the recirculating pump. You can get a kit to rebuild it, but it's a bear to remove, and then you probably need to replace some other fittings and clamps as well, so I opted to replace the entire recirculating pump motor, which comes with a new pump assembly and a new motor starter (if equipped). I left the top of the old pump in place, which made the whole repair relatively easy.

For several months leading up to the recirculating pump failure, I noticed a lot of odd black bits always stuck to plastic & melamine items washed in the dishwasher. It turns out that those were bits from the inside of the pump. Also, the dishwasher cleans like new again. It's hard to notice when things degrade slowly over time. I no longer have to pre-wash anything.

I'm attaching the repair manual I used. It seems to cover most Bosch and Bosch OEM models. I would not have been successful without it.

Thanks for the information. It was very helpful. I did mamnge to take the pump out but since I'm not 100% sure that this is the issue, I think it probably makes sense to buy a new dishwasher than risk $150 on a new part.
