If I run it through the pulley once it seems like the string & spring combination is too long. (I am reusing the existing spring.) Unfortunately both sides need replacing so I don't have an example to work from. Thanks

I do have the string running through the pulleys correctly, but if I just make the "S" through the pulleys the string seems too long. I have tried putting the spring in the furthest back position but it doesn't seem to get tension until the door is fully open...Any suggestions?? Thanks.
