Dryer doesn't stop in Auto Sense or Timed Dry, I have to stop it manually by opening the dryer door or turning the control knob to the off position. Please Help..... I really don't want to buy a new dryer. I have technical background but not with appliances.

You probably just need a new timer
Best way to check is with a meter.
Measure across the timer motor with the unit running.
If you get 240 volts and the timer is not advancing then it is shot.
BE VERY CAREFUL 240 VOLTS IS LETHAL
OR
Alternatively unplug the machine, unplug one of the motor wires at the timer, measure the timer for resistance, if it is open, the timer is shot.
Note this just checks the motor unlike the earlier test which checks the motor and the timer gears.
OR
Just order a timer, odds are very high that this is the problem.
As long as everything else is OK.
